A Crimson River - Story of Yug Transformation

होशवालों को खबर क्या

बेखुदी क्या चीज़ है

इश्क कीजिये फिर समझिये

ज़िन्दगी क्या चीज़ है......

And within no seconds of escape there was a news aired on the radio about a young lady who was murdered with the weapon of customs and evil were the cramps....

Yes she was menstruating.... freshly fought the teens and just entered twenties....she was asked to leave the house for some days say few and abandon herself from the chores. No it wasn't 1930s....

It was 2040.... Where each one around was seeking knowledge and understanding of innovation and revolution while there was another side of the parallel earth where there's no wisdom neither was awakening for something that took place around the same date of every month....

"Gosh!!! This sounds scary!" exclaimed Riddhima with shock, after hearing the news while still being on her chair....in the dilemma whether was it true that ears heard or she just encountered some old granny nagging....

"What so happened mum, that left you in despair?", asked Yug, her 13 year old son.

"Nothing", she just nodded and continued, "you are too young to be told about this darling". And she was still again.

Doubting her role as a female and making her remarkable personality radiant she gave another thought to her words uttered and finally thought to initiate a change, which was possible by sowing a seed of consciousness and by just not watering wise words....

She called upon her son and she witnessed his firm walk while still being a kid. He reflected a responsible tomorrow and a healthy change to be mould.

"When was the last time you saw blood, Yug?" asked she.

"It was when I accidentally hit a girl who was cycling nearby and with that friction both of us fell. I saw her knee bleeding", he innocently answered.

To his childish answer Riddhima responded,

"it's not the only time she bleed!", As soon as he heard this, a deep look shadowed his face, while his eyes drowned into mystery...

After few moments she broke the monotony of silences she said to her son, "Come I'll tell you a story."

While he was approaching towards her each following steps she counted ....one two three four and you go on and on...grow up and become a man...but do you know when does a girl become woman?

"Maaaa... You keep asking questions and answer none....why so?, he dramatically asked.

"It's because I want you to discover them" she replied.

"So, why that wasn't the only time she bleed, when else, Mum?", Riddhima's son was curious now.

"A girl becomes woman when she gives birth to a new born, while to carry this process she welcomes each month a crimson river and flows out of her with the pebbles named cramps...

"A crimson river!!", interrupted Yug.....

"That would be so painful Maa"...

"It is, and that is why each women is a warrior herself" Riddhima shook her head proudly.

"Then why did they murder the lady who was menstruating, was menstruating her fault?,

"No no sweetheart... menstruating isn't a fault, it's the misconception about it a fault born like termite....that eats up the society and never allows social awakening" she calmly explained....

"It's the place that she was born in fault, the people around her in fault and the mothers and wives in fault who didn't make sure the sanity of daughters, of females around and never let the husbands, brothers and sons know about what is it to bleed and still live on...", she was furious....

There a was silver lining seen when Riddhima was at rage, she transformed the meaning of feminity, she ignited the tomorrow in the form of her son that wouldn't be afraid to talk about menstrual cycle or about the pain. Here she gave birth to a newer Yug of transformation....
